Apr 1, 2021 This is my bachelor degree dissertation in Chinese during my time at Wuhan University.
About one year later, I tried to connect (make bad use of) it with my data sonification project.
Framework
In this project, I studied how to optimized the air distribution in a small space (5G base station) through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). I made simulations of the room and equipment geometry to conduct controlled experiments on different factors including air supply methods, room layouts, and airflow containment.
Methods
- Heat Transfer inside base station
- Simplification of geometry modeling
- Mathematical models
- Governing equations
- k-ε turbulence model
- Experiments
- CFD grid generation
- Baseline
- Experiment results for 13 strategies (metric: heat source temperature and thermal efficiency ηt)
Final presentation (Chinese)
Something Fun
While doing the data sonification course later at Columbia, I try to bring the simulation data to Max/MSP to sonify the air distribution change caused by different factors in the environment (room geometry, air supply methods, etc.) to make noise out of the wind.
